A very interesting piece by Joey Garrison in USA today, where he discusses the health of President Donald Trump. The 47th President of America has been diagnosed with chronic vein insufficiency. So, can chronic vein insufficiency (CVI) increase the threat of a deep vein thrombosis?
Yes, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition where leg veins don’t circulate blood effectively, can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). CVI can result from or contribute to DVT, and the damaged valves in CVI can also be a consequence of a previous DVT.
So, what could, or should President Trump do? Compression stockings? Possibly a starting point, but they’d have to be bespoke to him. Off the shelf products, have been shown to have no clinical or medical benefit pre or post procedures (Imperial College NHS London – 2020).
Surgery? Is the president fit enough to undergo a general anaesthetic though? Public reporting says that President Trump is in “excellent health”, but there’s always a risk, no matter how qualified the surgeon or anaesthetist may be.
The simple solution for the 47th President of the United States of America would be to use an RBR legflow™. Not only will it get the lower limb venous blood-flow flowing, in fact, the medical device increases blood-flow over 10-fold, but it’s easy to use, and can be used under the desk in the Oval Office, or while flying on Airforce 1.
